Literacy Volunteers of Monongalia and Preston Counties provides innovative, confidential, and free programs that increase literacy skills for adults.
Vision: Literacy Volunteers envisions a community where all people, who so desire, have the literacy skills and knowledge needed to:
- Break the intergenerational cycle of illiteracy
- Communicate in English
- Be active in their children's education
- Make informed financial decisions
- Use technology to better their lives
- Be self sustainable
Literacy Volunteers also envisions a community that understands the economic repercussions of illiteracy and that community will financially and physically support literacy efforts, and become an invested, active participant in the battle against illiteracy.
